What is the Activity Assistant?
The Activity Assistant is a feature which will give you a friendly reminder through a notification if you go for a run with your phone, but forgot to track it with the app.
Which platforms support the Activity Assistant and which requirements are needed?
The Activity Assistant feature it is only available for Android devices and from Endomondo App version 16.11.0 and higher.
Which sports does it track? How does it work?
At the moment the Activity Assistant is only enabled for running workouts. The Android phone will identify your movement once you start running and our app will receive this information via the Google Activity Recognition API.
This feature will only estimate the duration of the workout, it will not measure distance achieved nor draw a route on a map, as we do NOT access the location nor GPS data from the phone.
A minimum of 15 minutes running is needed for the app to note that you have been moving. Once you have finished your workout and you have been resting for over 5 minutes, you will receive a notification message on your phone.
When clicking on the notification the Endomondo app will open and you can choose whether you like to save the workout to have it included in your history and stats, or you can choose to discard it by clicking the back button.
As distance is not measured, we give you the option to add distance and edit all other fields if necessary.
Note - We do encourage you to actively track your workouts with the app to get all your stats tracked including distance, splits, routes etc, and please only see this as an alternative in case you forget to track your workouts.
