- Live Tracking Notification (New Feature)
You can become friends with other users on Endomondo. To do that, hit "Request Friend" when you're looking at the your new friends' profile at www.endomondo.com. The person you have requested will then be notified in their app and on the website, and will be asked to respond to the request. Please note that this feature is only available on the website, not in the apps.
To accept or reject a friend request on the website, please click the notification bell in the upper right corner and click accept or reject.
To accept a friend request in the iPhone app, please click the notification bell in the upper right corner of the screen and click accept.
To reject a friend request in the iPhone app, please click the notification bell in the upper right corner of the screen and slide the notification to the left to get the Ignore option.
To accept or reject a friend request in the Android app, please click the notification bell in the upper right corner and click accept or reject.
Once you are friends, your workouts will pop up in each others' newsfeeds (provided of course, your privacy settings allow for it), and you'll be able to pep talk each other if you're tracking live. The peptalk feature is available on the website and in the Android and iPhone app.
With pep talk, you can send a message to a friend that is out tracking live.
The pep talk feature is available from the News Feed at www.endomondo.com and on the Android and iPhone app. This feature can be used when a friend is out tracking. Just push the "Peptalk" button and type your message in English. The text is then converted to speech and played on your friend's mobile phone through the headphones or speaker.
You can only send a pep talk to friends that are using a version of the Endomondo app that supports the feature and if the users have enabled the feature in their app. Pep talk can be enabled by going into the Endomondo app > Settings > Audio Settings > Pep Talk. You can see which apps support Peptalk at www.endomondo.com/features. The user also has to have an active data connection while tracking in order to get the pep talks.

You can easily find your friends on Endomondo. To find friends who already are on Endomondo or to invite friends to join Endomondo just click the friends button on the website or click the friends button in the Android or Iphone App. Now you can search for friends in your contacts, find your Facebook friends (we will only be able to find friends this way if their Endomondo Account is connected to their Facebook Account) alternatively please remember that you can invite your friend to join Endomondo via text message. At the moment it is not possible to retrieve or delete a "Friend Request" which might have been sent by mistake, you will have to wait until this request is accepted and then delete the friend following the steps listed on the "delete friends" section.
If you no longer want to be friends on Endomondo, go to www.endomondo.com, log in to your profile, hit "Friends" in the green menu bar, search for the friend you want to remove, click the profile and hit "Remove Friend".
You can add a status update to your newsfeed, that your friends can see. Just log in to www.endomondo.com. On the frontpage, you'll see the option to add a status update, like in the image below.
You can use the field for e.g. sharing your plans to go working out, share interesting workout related links or something entirely different. Your update will be shown in your friends' newsfeed in both the app and on the website. You can use #tags in your update, to make the update findable for other users. See an example below:
If you have been working out with a friend you can let the world know using Endomondo. Just enable the social sharing screen and tag your friends afterwards. The app will even suggest friends for you to tag. If you have both been tracking live with Endomondo (i.e. with an active data connection), and if you have been within 200 meters of each other for 5 minutes, the app will auto-tag you in each others' workouts.

On the website
If you have not been tracking live, or if the app for some other reason has not found out that you've been tracking together just find the friends you want to tag in the list of friends you get by hitting the (v) icon above the map and then click 'Tag Friends'.
If you choose to share the workout on Facebook, and you're also friends on Facebook, your friend will also be tagged in the Facebook post.
The tagging feature is available on the website and in the Android and iPhone app.
Go to www.endomondo.com, browse to the workout on your friend's profile and hit the "copy workout" button. Now the workout will be copied to your profile with all the information including route, lap times etc.
Please note, you cannot copy a workout from a friend if you already have a workout tracked around the same time. You will need to first delete your workout, then you can copy/request a copy of your friend's workout.
- Your workout privacy setting “Time and Speed” has to be set to “friends” or “everyone”.
- You need to add each other as friends on Endomondo.
- You need to have an active data connection while you are out tracking.
When person A starts their workout and adds some distance to it, the data will start uploading to our server. Person B can then see in their newsfeed that person A is out tracking live.
The newsfeed post will look like this on mobile:
You will now be able to peptalk your friend or if you click the news feed post follow your friend on the live map(slide down to refresh the map).
A neewsfeed post on the website with a friend out running looks like this:
Here you also have the option to like, peptalk and follow your friend on the live map. Just hit the link that says "cycling" (or whichever sport your friend is doing).

3 - If you access the workout you will be able to follow the workout, access the map live and send messages of encouragement to your friends.
4 - You can enable/disable this feature by going to settings - notifications - Live Notifications.
5 - In order to share your live notifications with your friends you will have to turn ON the "share my Live Notifications" or "Notify my friends" setting at the top. You will also be able to select which users you will want to receive notifications from.
